Cover Story
Today I am the product of all my yesterdays
Talking to my interviewees has been a wonderful heart warming experience. The dedication to care and quality for our patients and clients is foremost in their work whether its here in the UK or internationally. It was interesting that the seeds to nurse were sown early on and often influenced by family. A clear pointer for our future nurses that positivity by example is important. Some have had to go the long way around to qualify but were determined.
Finding that balance outside was also important and recognising the signs of burnout early are essential. Our interviewees come from a variety of sectors but are all committed and insightful, and able to see the best in the difficult situation we found ourselves in during the pandemic and beyond.
To be valued and cared for as a staff member, is essential to being recognised as a worthy professional. Take some time to just value yourself for being you. I hope you enjoy our interviews and look forward to hearing your stories of the future.
