- Motivational and Inspiring: We want stories that uplift and empower our readers. Share your experiences of overcoming challenges in homelife, finding joy in patient care, or discovering your niche within the nursing profession.
- Focus on Well-being: We prioritize the well-being of nurses. Highlight how you manage stress, maintain work-life balance, or prioritize self-care in your nursing journey.
- Actionable Insights: Offer practical takeaways for your fellow nurses. Did you develop a family time-management system? Learn a new technique for coping with a challenging situation? Showcase your hobbies and self care practices such as beauty, travel, or music!
- UK-Specific Context: While we welcome stories from all backgrounds and countries, please prioritize experiences relevant to the UK healthcare system.
- Word Count: Aim for stories between 500 to 750 words.
- Writing Style: Use a clear, engaging, and conversational tone. Avoid overly technical language and focus on storytelling.
- First-Person Narrative: Share your personal experiences and perspectives.
- Accuracy and Ethics: Ensure all information is accurate and adheres to ethical guidelines for patient privacy.
- Formatting: Submit your story in a .doc or .docx format. Use a standard, easy-to-read font size and spacing.
- Images: Include high-resolution images (optional but preferable) that complement your story.
- Bio & Contact Information: Provide a brief bio about yourself and your nursing background. Include your contact information for any questions.
- Email: Attach all the relevant documents to an email and send to stories@haydenlifestyles.org.
- We receive a high volume of submissions. Our team will review your story within 2-4 weeks and be in touch regarding the decision.
- If your story is accepted, we may request minor edits or collaborate with you to enhance the content for our readership.
- Upon publication, you will receive author recognition
- Proofread Carefully: Ensure your writing is free of grammatical errors and typos.
- Strong Title: Choose a title that accurately reflects the content and grabs the reader’s attention.
- Clear Structure: Organize your story with a beginning, middle, and end. Use subheadings if needed.
